From the translator’s journal ~Mom’s right hand~

My Mom’s left side
was paralized and unable to move.
But her right hand
was always clenched tightly.

I was afraid that her right palm
would be hurt by her fingernails.

So I had her right hand hold
a toilet paper tube with
Hail Mary written around.

When it was time to change her clothes,
the special toilet tube was often on the floor
as a simple toilet paper tube

It was then I found
a little plush Unicorn in the Chapel.

I waited for more than a week for the owner.
But the owner didn’t appear.

I took it with gratitude
to the child who left it behind.

The Unicorn was perfect
for my Mom’s right hand!
