From the translator’s journal ~Tweets in the heating of summer~

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces,
I would still plant my apple tree” said Martin Luther.

Me too,
I would stockpile the necessities.
Even if I knew that tomorrow nobody would live around me
I would live alone on my stock.

The one who often says I’m dying
will live long…
Would it be a strength of the weak?

I taste Martin Luther’s words
together with those of Mahatma Gandhi:
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow.
Learn as if you were to live forever.”

Both of them mean:
“Live wholeheartedly for today!”
Then our life will continue longer than expected.

What an optimistic tweet
in the midst of a heating summer!
